Do the bass amp mod if you havent. Just got to pull out the driver side carpet in the trunk, feel on the bottom of the amp for the dial, turn it up.

New speakers are going in mine for christmas if I can last that long. Everything Ive read says that the actual HU is not that bad but the speakers are PITIFUL and I second that notion.

You can't replace the stereo because the heat & A/C controls are integrated into it. Try turning off the EQ in the stereo settings, then use the bass & treble controls and turn on loudness. Then turn up the bass level on the amp in the trunk like bballr4567 said and it will sound much better.

Bass amp gain is set to max, which did help by allowing me to turn down the bass EQ settings and lower the distortion from the front speakers. However, the fronts still sound horrible. I have all of the equalization off except for speed volume control and manual bass and treble settings. It sounds much better now than when I picked it up, that's for sure.

I wish the fader control didn't fade out the subs too when I fade forward. It seems like the rear door speakers are worse than the front comps.

My original plan used LOCs to feed the stock head unit signal to an amp. I might go with something a little fancier so I can fade front and rear, with an independent sub level control. Something like an Audio Control LC8i, I think that's the model number I looked at.

Connecting a JBL Cleansweep signal processor to the stock head unit and an aftermarket amp will give you great sound. The Cleansweep isn't cheap but it's an excellent unit.

Those are definitely nice, I also like the Rockford Fosgate 360.2. I don't want to spend that much though; trying to stay under $1,500 total for front comps, rear coax, 5 chan amp, and a single sub.

Those units are nice but they are pretty expensive. When I said you can't replace the head unit I meant with just a standard one from the store.

Holy crap that car has a lot done to it! I didn't think the exterior looked bad, but I don't think I could live with the interior style. I bet it does great at car shows though.

It's also blown too, so it backs up the looks with lots of muscle.

I am sure it looks great when 80% of the population vomits in its general direction whenever they see that car.

I bet he visits the car wash all the time.

I think someone is just jealous of his G8....

A lot of the parts he has he got for free since he promotes them for numerous companies. The interior is a little too extreme but the electronics are totally awesome. Plus the outside looks bad as hell.

Really? just to confirm the black is matte and not glossy, correct? Is that supposed to minic the SLP FireHawk? I guess that is what he was going for or maybe it is a SLP car?

I like the Aussie front fascia and wheels im just not feeling the paint.

The JHP gauges are cool and I would get them if they weren't the better part of a grand. The center speaker replacement is just too much though.

the i pad gets a pass but i think it would of been better off with a smaller car computer screen or something. the screen looks too big.

it isn't all bad.

The paint is matte black to mimic the Firehawk. I like the 2 tone look, it's better than one single color. He used the iPad because it fit the area where the stock head unit was, and he could integrate the stereo and HVAC controls into it.

you'd be surprised what people payed for this car new... yes anything under 25 is a lie down right, but i paid 27,500 out the door(tax title and all) i jumped on a dealership that was closing when they announced the closer of dealer ships, at that time they also were attempting to boost sales buy giving dealerships 5 grand each to discount vehicles were they saw fit, and so the dealer was closing within 2 days and we were nice and got 4500 off + a 2000 instant new car discount at the time and it was loaded aside from a sunroof, which i dislike. i still wouldent pay more then 25k unless its the red(the link is in this thread and for sale threw this forum) one with over 400 hp to the wheels i knew the previous owner, he kept that thing immaculate and i got the pleasure of riding in it twice, great car and all after market parts were professionally installed and everything!
