Lol KID to you cause Im no kid but anyway I could care less what ur track times are or were! We were street racing and went from a roll to avoid tire spin. The mustang cant pull my G8 in first gear or second gear and a little in third then alot in fourth! Thats pitiful! Proof of my statement is in the video. Dont care if youve had five of each it is a muscle car and wont pull the G8 till topend! If you dont know enuff bout street racing to see that then you need to get off the track and spend a little time on the street! Videos dont lie! Every gear was hit and pulled till time to shift no excuses here! 430hp so called rating with 4.10s vs maybe 400 with what 2.92s/3.23s and still didnt pull me Ill stick with GM and never jump ship!

The mustang definitely needs the driver mod. My G8 has a cam, stall, gears, etc and I recently raced a new 5.0 with intake, full exhaust, and tune. We went several times from a 40 roll to around 140 and I only got him by 2 cars. He had a time slip for 11.9 on street tires. With a good driver you would get owned by a new 5.0

The autos are running good these days Going 11s with only a tune and a tire is crazy.
Cam plus what other mods? There are bolt-on a6s running deep 11s without head/cam work but I'd like to see what mods you are considering basic.

I doubt if you can find a cam only A6. There will have to be a tune involved and most likely there will also be at least some sort of cold air intake, and without a doubt a tune.
Lance, most of us are G8 owners, and G8 fans, however most all of us have a great deal of respect for the new 5.0 Mustangs.

G8's are heavy, Mustangs are lighter... not rocket science. Takes more power in a G8 to run with the same power Mustang. Especially with the Mustangs better gear ratios and higher revving engine. Personally I haven't had any problem beating them in my family car.
Its not hard to beat a G8... there are tons of cars that can beat them. Hell my Subaru beats 99% of G8's and its not awe inspiring, beats most Mustangs too and its my wife's daily. Its always funny to see people get beat by a chic in a ricer!
For the OP - for sure get headers and gears along with a retune and you'll be happy with it for a little while longer!

But the new stangs are def. badass. Power/weight ratio wins everytime.

That 3-4 shift in the last video was horribly long.
What are your mods on the g8?
I've owned both cars as well. My mustang ran stock what my g8 did with LTs,cai and tune. Roll racing both had similar trap speeds so it should be about equal.

The new 5.0 pony is a winner. Ford got it right. I'm a dad, got kids, need four doors and lots of rear seat room. It was the G8 or a 'vette, given the benefits of the G8 I can live with the limitations.
And... Kona Blue is the best color. Period. Sharp looking cars.

Those new 5.0's are no joke thats for sure, my next door neighbor got one some time ago so I raced him with the G8 GXP and he got me by about half a car, so I took out the vette and raced him he beat me by 2 cars...LOL he sprayed the **** out of me..

I think it's funny that were on a ls site, everyone is defending the new 5.0 and the op still won't let up.
Trust me, were ALL butt hurt over that motor n that car, but a spade is a spade...

I've seen too many members post videos of them beating faster cars only to be chastized by those know it all naysayers. At 48 and with many builds behind me I can honestly say that I can drive and have outdriven my share of so called faster cars. With that said, good runs Lance. Install a few mods and go have some fun racing against the invincible. But most importantly, remember that maybe 30% of what gets passed around here is acurate and worth listening to.
