Pretty simple... CAI, FAST LSXR, decent cam/dod delete, ported/milled/valve job heads, FTI 3600, Kooks 1 7/8", UDP, zex wet kit, drag radials.

830hp - drivetrain loss = roughly 700whp. Thanks for verifying my post!

There aren't even that many in the 10's which shows how much work it takes. But I guess with unlimited funds anything is possible. Gonna take a built engine, built trans, built rear, a big blower to move 4k lbs into single digits! Looking at an easy $20k just in basic stuff not including the details, safety, etc..

I'm working on getting my car there. I'm slowly upgrading everything thats needed to get there... finished the roll bar/wheel studs/misc safety stuff, finishing up the suspension now, beefing up the drivetrain to take more power, soon be time for more power. Since it appears it takes at least 550-600whp to even run high 10's from those that have done it, 9's is going to take an easy 750+whp.

Just take a look at how much more horsepower you have to have to move a car our size into the 9's:

3000 pounds: 692 hp
3200 pounds: 738 hp
3400 pounds: 784 hp
3600 pounds: 830 hp
3800 pounds: 876 hp
4000 pounds: 922 hp
Completely agree.

Nobody ever considers anything except for the engine...

Respectfully, I dont think any G8 with a Maggie will ever make it close to 9's... I would say 10.5 at very best....

the only G8's that would ever make it to 9's would have to be a twin turbo setup or a Large Procharger... F1 or bigger... Prochargers and turbos are the way to go for the strip..... (just my opinion obviously..) (but I dont think many people will argue that the turbos and prochargers are the best for the strip.... not many..... )

I agree, an F-1A can get 3500lb 4th gen f bodys into the 8's, it should get a G8 into the 9's. Bob

Working on that...
G8 + Corvette = CTS-V

Problem solved.

A friend of mine had a bone stock Auto 2005 GTO and he was only able to manage a best time of 14.0 Granted he had heavy wheels and was on street tires so maybe a 13.6-13.7 with good tires and lighter wheels. So I would say it's all about who knows where their car likes to be launched on a stock stall and gets it to hook.
