Not sure about budget, but headers/exhaust, intake & dyno tune will make a real difference. Best headers for these cars are American Racing Headers or Kooks. Roto-Fab & Vararam are the popular CAIs. Nice GXP by the way. Sounds like you got a nice deal.

I had a new 5.0 with a whipple and full exhaust. But I don't want to go that far with this car. I think I just want cai and axle back but I don't want one with drone but there are no g8s around here so i have nothing to go off of.

First let me start by saying congrats on the new purchase! Gorgeous looking car. As far as modifications go, we can do anything and everything you'd ever want done! Are there any specific power goals? ET goals? I attached a link to a few of our G8 packages that we offer. You can custom tailor these to your specific wants or needs as well. Feel free to PM me with any questions of concerns. Enjoy the new car! -Chris

When i bought my car with 49k miles on it, about 1000 miles after i got it the lifters collapsed and it took two months for the dealership to finish the car.

If i bought another one i would remove all the DOD stuff as fast as possible.

Solo Axlebacks, hands down. Built nicely and they have J-pipes to eliminate droning. I had these before I went to headers.

Only complaint about my girls G8 is the shifting in sport/manual mode is a bit slow and dim witted at times.

Most of the big vendors offer stuff for our cars. Most of the l99 or ls3 stuff works too for internal and intake manifold stuff. Headers and intake will need to. Obviously headers and intake will be vehicle specific. Between intakes Vararam and Rotofab are the most popular, and Headers best are American Racing and Kooks.

Not really as far the engine goes. The DOD lifters were the main issue, but only in GTs.
