Default Adding courtesy lights in the doors. Where to wire?

I want them to come on only when the doors are open or I turn on the interior lights myself. What would be the nearest wire to tap into? I'd rather not run wire to the overhead lights, if possible. That seems like a major PITA. Has anybody done this or have knowledge on where a suitable wire can be found?

Car is a 2009 G8.

This is a cool idea, but I can't help you as far as where to draw the juice from.
Unfortunately, it seems you might have to connect to where ever the dome light gets its power.
If I find something, I'll post up for sure.

Any pics of the lights you will be installing?

it's actually a "puddle light". You mount it inside the door, on the underside. The light shines onto the ground.

Connect them to the interior lights fuse using a fuse tap. Google it and you will see what it is. They are available at most auto parts stores.

I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's on my to-do-list. Subscribe, and I'll post pics here when I get it done. It shouldn't be much longer.
