Here's what I know...if you're gonna throw an lsx in there, you might as well just go ahead and put the blown lsa in there for s's and g's. I don't mind sharing with the 2009 cts-v!

Yes, 3.70 will most likely be the manual ratio. Bluetooth is new.

Maybe showing my age, but with me driving, the auto would be as quick as a stick, esp once a good bit of the torque management is removed. I drove an a6 vette, and it hauls but seems to have alot of torque managent, nice smooth shift that motor trend probably likes, but not me. As far as the ratio's go in an auto vs stick, if you do the math below, the overall gear spacing is about the same with the 2.59 auto and the 3.42 stick, and a 2.73ish gear is optional on a Vett.

This is Fantastic news.

I always wanted the The rear wheel drive V8 manual but with 4 doors and modern interior. So this is a perfect option instead of the new camaro. Awesome Job by GM with this.

Yes, this sounds great for the Pontiac folks like myself! At least we are not getting left totally in the dark. But it would still be nice to see a new Trans Am based off the new Camaro chassis but in a modern design that was opposite of the retro design of the Camaro.

They have got you guys by the short and curlies if you want a manual transmission on your G8, I just dont get why you guys have to buy the top of the line model to get a manual that sounds weird..
The SV6, SS and SSV and the HSV Clubsport and GTS come with 6 speed manual transmissions as standard the 5 speed auto is a $1000 option on the SV6 and the 6 speed auto is $2000 on the SS and HSV models..
The auto's have active select via the gear lever there are no paddles on the steering wheel..

Fuel economy dude. The auto is rated better for economy. New average fuel economy standards suggest its prudent to sell mainly the more economic auto's to help GM's average rating.

Wow are GM that hard up for points on their fuel economy rating as looking at Holdens offficial economy rating the auto is only 0.1 better then the manual..
On the V6 models the manual is 0.3 better then the auto but how many V6 G8 are they going to sell..

It just erks me that I won't be able to buy a G8 GT 6 speed.
I read in the Automotive news a few weeks back, dealer publication, that given the recent CAFE standards the G8 as a whole may only be produced for 2-3 years before being dropped.
