Doesnt the G8 use a 6 speed auto so wouldnt you want to be at the top of 4th?

To do that you would probably need 4.3 or 4.5's and 1st gear would be totally useless good for 15 or 20 mph or so.

The 2.92 is just about perfect IMHO. Mine traps 117 mph @ approx 6800 in 3rd gear. My drag tyres are a tad smaller than the streeters though

cheers

As an owner of a SRT8 Charger, I gotta say that's impressive for a 4 door. A little better 60ft and it'll be in the 12's without spray.

Impressive numbers, I would have guessed slower than that. Tuning is well worth it.

DAMN!!

So the car is bone stock with a tune and a 100 shot? Is it a wet or dry kit? Did you just put a set of drag radials on the stock wheels or use different wheels?

I guess I will have to put my kit on my car and get a tuning license for it

13.1 after a tune is awesome!!! Its a sleeper for sure since people outside of GM prolly have no clue what it can do

I'm actually 30 minutes away from atco, after I put my LTs on saturday I might be going there on the next test and tune night!

I've got a new 08 g8 (#092), they are pretty impressive. The numbers posted on the thread are really impressive. I've just added my own filter and built a bracket to hold it all and you can feel and here the difference getting rid of the stock air box. I'm waiting on a 90 degree elbo from spectre performance so I can finish the air intake system. New era picked up about 10 hp without a tune just by getting rid of the stock air box and adding their intake. I'll get to run it in a month or so at ozark dragway for a test and tune night. I would love to see some low 13's with this car. I should have another thousand miles on it by then, so, maybe a little more broken in.

Not for nothing , but I tested that on the dyno , you will either run the same as stock or slower just putting a filter like that on the MAF because of how the pcm is going to detune the car .

Mike, thanks for the post. I'm sure thats correct, I'm just playing around with it till I get all the parts to build the kit. I wish yours was polished, I'd buy one today. It feels quicker then with the stock box and the r's definetly get there quicker. It won't get the cool air required till I can tuck in down insided the fender. I'll get it done, if you get a polished set up in the future, let us know.
