So the car will have three silvers/gray (maverick, pacific and magnetic) and two reds (sport and liquid) but it will drop the orange?? WTF is up with GM??? Talk about an unexciting color lineup for a hot car.

Why cant we get a G8 in the colors offered in AUS? That puts the color count up to 8 for the MY 09 while the Commodore gets 12?

Can anyone tell me if there are still more 08's bound for the US? Or do we have to wait for the 09's once the first 888 are sold out?

the 08's are already here and production is done, just waiting to be "tagged" by dealers. They can go into GM's inventory database and select which cars they want. Pretty much all that's left is the goofy optioned V6 cars or GT's without sunroofs or leather. 09's will be available to tag in late August, so I've heard.

Doesn't look like the manual trans is an option for 09' either.

Sad....

GM is trying really hard to loose my business.

M6 GT for 30K would have been my next car.(Not spending 40K+ on a GXP)

True, likely closer to $35k ($34k?) for the GXP and worth every penny I bet.

Manual is going to be offered in 09 GXP model.

Current Rumor price is about $34K. eg. "Few Thousand more". $40K would be a deal breaker for this car.

From a user on another board:
Mr Jim Hopson,

Ever since the Pontiac G8 GXP was announced I and many others have been very eager to find out just when this car will be in dealers showroom floors and what price we can expect to pay. Can you offer any updated information for the car enthusiast out there?

His response is as follows:

Jeff,

Right now, we expect the GXP to be available very late this year, most likely in late November or early December. Pricing hasn't been finalized, but will likely be a few thousand dollars more than a comparable GT. Final pricing will likely be announced about two months prior to availability.

Regards,

Jim Hopson
