i didnt think they had a choice in the matter. I thought the supplier discount was like a coupon that all franchises had to honor as part of the deal for using the GM name and selling their products.

Yeah the dealer doesnt have to honor the supplier or a gm employee discount....i work at a chevy cadillac dealer and we honor it on everything except the corvette. We dont mark things up 1000 over sticker tho, but it depends on the market for that vehicle in the area. We have a new Z06 right now...if someone came in and said they qualify for supplier and wanted to buy it, we'd tell them congrats and have a nice day...just all depends on the vehicle man.

I see you are in wichita, I live in outside peck just south of there...
I was in KC a few weeks ago and went to 3 pontiac dealers looking at G8's. The one up on barry road would honor supplier pricing.
I also looked at the Donovan Pontiac/GMC in wichita and they said they would also honor supplier pricing. they have an 08' white GT in the showroom and said they were getting an 09 in soon.

If the brand new 09 Z06's are going for sub MSRP and approaching invoice, you bet you can get a G8 GT for under MSRP.
Shop around, that dealer will be sitting on that one for a while as 09's are now hitting the lots.

There are a bunch of 2008 G8 GT's in my area (over 120 within 500 miles). I've spoken to a few different dealerships and the ones I talked to were open to selling their cars for the GM supplier price.
Thruthfully, Pontiac and GM need to get realistic and offer some decent financing incentives or they're going to end up taking it in the shorts on the 2008's as the 2009's are already hitting the dealerships.

Perhaps you are looking at this wrong. No reflection on you not being smart. It's a good thing there are NO DISCOUNTS ON G8 GT'S.

Selling the car at sticker or even 1,000 over keeps the value of your car, your investment, higher than offering anything less than sticker. 10-4?
You still have options - LEASE
" " - But what are we really talking about, in money?
I found many G8 GT's - average days in inventory 64. That was based on the first 10 vehicles that came up.
Sticker $32,295.00
Invoice $30,921.10
GMS EMPLOYEE PRICE $29,806.70
That's not much to make on a 32K product! about 10% tops. Does your employer make 10% on your work?
Naturally, you're paying cash because everyone at LS1 pays cash for their cars.

I will still save YOU money. No one has offered to do this, yet. Secure your loan before you shop for your G8 GT. Have your bank letter when you shop. "Your best interest rate will save you more than trying to beat the dealer down." Jakes Dad! Think of the time and money it's costing you to LOOK? Confirm the age, on the dealers lot, of the G8's. In my opinion the 08 G8 GT is also almost a year old too. When do the 09 come out?

well the Z06 doesnt qualify for the supplier discount but the normal corvette does. Now that you mention it i am unsure if the G8 qualifies for the supplier discount. The GM website says dealers will honor the supplier discount plus current incentives but i will look it up right now
