The car is a solid touring car. It's when we mod it up and push the limits that weaknesses appear. Most of these are approaching senior aged years too.

FWIW some people that think they are going to cure all hop with an "anti-wheel hop" axle may be disappointed. I still have a very controlled hop now but if I took my drag bags out it would hop worse. I have EVERYTHING: bags, stubs, anti-wheel hop axles, 1 piece drive shaft, motor torque dampener, trans mount stiffened, subframe & control arm bushings, shocks, sway bar, 285 tires on 9" wheels and a Harrop cover. At least it won't violently break stuff now.

The only solution for wheel hop is 100% traction.

I love all the idiots that get conned into buying all of this expensive **** that they dont need that will somehow magically make it disappear.

This issue is inherent to the design of the car. It was not intended to dominate the drag strip and as such this issue is encountered when people try to do that with them.

i learned quickly that hop breaks things. My 6.0 swapped silverado had horrible hop, i broke 3 axles before i put traction bars on it. Then she hooked like it was built to do that sh*t

I think I was one of the first to snap a drive shaft in two from wheel hop

I just got mine and haven't noticed any wheel hop. I've almost hammered the accelerator once or twice but that was on the highway with the TCS still on.

Wheel hop is cause by harmonics and tire spin. First you have to get the tires spinning. If they don't spin it can't hop. Then it can hop and grab and hop and grab and hop and. . .

Okay, so wheel hop happens when you're spinning the tires and lose traction. As long as I hook, then I won't have wheel hop. Is that right?

That's exactly it. The other stuff can help but tires are by far the biggest.

I replace my axles almost three years ago with a set of anti-hop ones and haven't had any wheel hop since.

Same here. I put in a single axle on drivers side and reduced my hope by 95% with NO rear end upgrades other than Lovells Zero Drop springs. 90K mi on the odometer and ALL rear end bushings are stock.

I get a slight "shimmy" but its so minor I don't need to let out.

I agree the cure for wheel hop is 100%$ traction, but since mine is a DD with no goal other than to be a fun and powerful RWD V8 manual car...I like to spin some tires every once in a while.
