how do you relocate your IAT sensor??

how do you relocate your IAT sensor?? i see that many people relocate it to the airbox. How is this done? Do you need an extension cable or anything? Where is the IAT sensor located? I thought it was part of the MAF and could not be seperated.

The MAF housing on the ls2's have been known to heat soak causing an inaccurate reading of the IAT so moving it away may help with that. I moved my LS1 IAT right in front of the TB so it will get the best reading on what temp the air is entering the engine.
