not wanting to cut my bumper, i like the look of the 04 bumper but want a different exhaust. just thought a single 4inch might work or flow as well as the duel and be easier to route. just thinking off the wall i guess.

He is talkting about maybe running a y-pipe and singling it back. I have researched that before alot of people have told me not to do but really knows most of the time its gonna be trial and error before you figure out the sound that you like and power.

i have had a custom single exhaust on my 04 for over a year... i have pacesetter longtubes, 3" stainless pipes 4'long made into a custom y. then i have a single 3 1/2" stainless pipe going to the back. with a single magnaflow race muffler. it is the only at the time that made a full 3 1/2" all the way through muffler. we put it at the back just far enough for the tip to be welded on. the sound that this settup has is better sound quality than any 1000$ or more exhaust. been told many times. i used to have drone with the factory exhaust and as of the new exhaust i have no drone at any speed or rpm.
the exhaust cost 750.00$ complete and installed. just the other day i was setting in the wal mart parking lot with the car idleing and there was this guy driving around trying to find out where this old school sound was coming from. when he found me he said he could not believe the deep sound that rumbled accross the parking lot. now for the flow capability.
this settup will flow enough gasses to support over a 1000 hp. i currently have 400 rwhp and 389 rwtq. i could turbo or blower my settup and not have to worry about spending more money for exhaust... i have even had many ford mustang gt guy's come up and say that that my car has the best sounding exhaust they have ever heard from a lsx engine. all i can say is i am very pleased about the exhaust, and the durability of it. if anyone would like some specs on this type of system they can send me a private message and i will give them the specs. as i am the one who told the shop what i wanted and they fabbed it up. now just to let you all know that you will loose hp if you go this big in a dual exhaust... one of these days i am going to have a good enough computer to put on a sound clip... and i am also in the works in building up a nissan 280 zx with the big 8.1 litre and the 4l80e tranny. this will have another custom exhaust settup as well. i will be driveing this car on a daily bassis, and leaveing my goat at home. should be fast at the track too....

sound is subjective and if the OP heard your setup and liked it then that may be the way to go. your claims of HP gain or loss tho are also subjective. dyno #s don't mean a lot to me other than for tuning. just because some dyno puked out a 400 RWHP a 12.7 with a "slipping clutch" isn't subjective but plain slow for that number (you should also post up the trap). get the clutch fixed, get a sound clip up and then maybe a real judgment can be made.

Yeah, the Corsa Touring and Sport has a Y that goes into a single large pipe. I know a couple guys that run Corsa, I thought the touring sounded good (the Sport is louder though).
