Question
When i start my GTO it takes a few seconds to start up. My other cars always start up at the turn of the key but my GTO takes a few turnovers to start up. It runs fine and everything i was just wondering if im being paranoid or if its something wrong.

Mine used to do it sometimes, Really havent looked into it though.... I wouldnt really worry about it..... Maybe when you turn the ignition on wait a sec and let the fuel pump prime.... Could be that, I have a habbit of waiting until all that BS on the tach goes away before i start her but thats just muwah....

Do you allow the PCM to complete its' system check prior to turning over? Takes about 5 seconds. Turn the ignition to the on position and wait until you see system check complete or something to that end, them turn her over. Should hit on the first plug.

it sounds a little unusual. maybe you're losing fuel pressure in the rails when it sits? mine fires with 2-3 seconds or so without any mumbo jumbo. BTW maybe you're confusing it with other PCM systems. my wife's G6 just has to blip the key and it starts itself. i assumed it was because of the remote start feature but it may be the system

I may be worrying for nothing. Its not as bad as im making it sound. It just takes longer to start then any other car i have. All my other cars are a real quick blip of the key. But i think im over reacting.
On another subject what mod should i do next?

Most likely your battery. I'm still on my stock one with 40k miles on it. I've done the fluid refill, cleaned up the cable ends and the posts, and recharged two times now but I will be replacing it just prior to the cold weather.
One way to know is if it only does it during the first start up after a while of sitting because it charges back up from a fresh run.
