Default p1071 and p1074 and rough idle on occasion

I have posted this problem on other forums to get some ideas on what is causing this. I keep getting those codes for a year now. It popped up the first day I got the car. When I bought it, it had a K&N intake and a Borla catback. When the rough idle comes up the dash reads 1.0-1.3 gph at idle and then will go back to normal in about 30 sec. I have tried cleaning the MAF, I went to replace the intake gaskets but the new ones didn't fit and the old ones looked good. There are no vac leaks. I'm wondering if the MAF is having intermittent problems and should be replaced. I know lots of people get these codes since I have searched alot on this site. The rough idle seems to make this a little different. Oh yeah, I also replaced 1 o2 sensor because of strange readings and that had no effect.

I am getting those codes as well, but I can hear what I think is a vacuum leak (high pitched whistle sound). Everything I have read here says those codes are usually set by a vacuum leak.
