Default underdrive pulley?!?

Ok, im getting a cam installed and i was recommended to upgrade my stock pulley to an underdrive pulley, personally i dont trust this mod, i have heard that it makes your engine, work double and hp regain is little. What experiences have you guys had with this modification to your car? is it really worth the 200 bucks?

i dont see how it makes your enegine work double. all you are doin is freeing up hp that is suppose to be there. i just put one on my car and noticed a diff. my g/f is getting one when we do her cam/head swap next week

If you're doing a lot of daily driving in the city get an over pulley for the alt. so you do't run the battery down. You may want to an electric water pump as well so it over heat... that's a just in case.

+1 LOL. An UDP is a very popular mod, frees up between 5-10rwhp. You will never notice anything negative unless you have a monster stereo system or something else that draws a lot of power.

You will notice your ac sucks even worse at idle. Other than that never had a problem with UDP.
