Negative. Parts are pretty easy to find right now. A little expensive for certain things but not bad overall. Motor/tranny/brakes....anything not 100% completely GTO specific is easy to find and pretty cheap.

Both are great cars however, depends what one finds more important.
Yep everyone has there own opinions lol i def hear ya on the price, LS2's were like 7-8k more then the LS6 but that didnt bother me i just went with the LS6. I prefer the NAV/DVD, heated seats and Bose sound system. I looked at the G8 Gt's before I bought the V and didnt care for there interior either.

Also the 14" dual piston brembo brakes added to the car as well.

Being new to the GTO world i couldnt agree more and thats what convinced me to trade my ext cab silverado (05) in on an 06 just last week. The only regret is thinking i may get tired of the 6 speed as my daily, but then again its one of the most fun cars ive drove in a while and the previous owner was nice enough to install a set of KOOKs longtubes x pipe and borla exhaust.

happy camper typing in this zombie thread

Just picked up an 05 m6 with monster 3 clutch, k&n and magnaflow catback. Great car to daily, they are just so comfortable and ride so well. Ill be splitting time between it and my f150 on the days I dont want to drive a manual or weather isnt favorable.

Its a great DD. Been dd'ing mine for almost 4 years now. It does get expensive though as its not a Toyota pickup. LOL So its not cheap to drive by any means.

Have had two GTO's, both of which were and are my main daily drivers with ~90k between the two. Like any other car, look for a well cared for and an original or 2nd adult owner that didn't abuse or hack it. Might be a tough thing with the prices on these being pretty low, but they do exist.

How is it getting in and out of? I know that sounds kind of silly, but it's a PIA for me to get in and out of my 5th gen Camaro.

Easy. I had 98 Firebird Formula and that thing was a major pain to get out of. The GTO is very easy to get into and out of.

these cars are very easy to deal with on a daily basis. you will need tires in shitty weather though.
