Thumbs up I drove a new GTO today.. impressions

The shop that does my engine work (Don Lee's in SoCal) has a new toy now:

http://www.donleeauto.com/cars/Tim/GTO/GTO.html

One of the first ones in SoCal and the owner (Tim) tossed me the key and let me take it for a "spin"

Other than the wheels I like the looks of the car.. could use some sort of ram-air hood but wheels and a slight drop would do wonders.. the yellow color is beautiful and the quality of the paint is much better than my fbody was.

The interior is absolutly stunning.. you forget its a GM product since the quality is so high. suede like door panels, french stiched leater seats with high quality leather.. tweed headliner.. very nice. I want the A4 shifter **** for my 69

Car drives nice and feels very tight and well put together. the dash is very nice and the guage placement is good.

the GTO accelerated good and feels quick although not as quick as my SS did. This would be a great daily driver or with some mods.. who knows

low points:
needs a louder exhaust.. very quiet unless "on it"
wish the seats were narrower.. i guess its good for larger people
small trunk

I can see these selling VERY well for some time

Oh, he is taking it to irwindale to see how it does in the 1/8 mile.. then its MOD TIME!

Additional dealer markup $9,999, Hell no!!!! Not even if I had $45K burning a hole in my pocket, its just not worth that kind of money.

That markup should go away quick. There are a bunch of cars on ebay barely selling at MSRP.

Car is beautiful, and definitely let us know how it did at the track. How come the gas mileage is a bit lower than the fbody's?
