header install new to the LS power plant and im looking to add some power to my 04 GTO. i just got some LT pacesetter headers and looking to put these bad boys on so i can see how they perform. i was wondering if any one would be will to help me out with the install in the KCMO area? i will provide lunch and drinks for whoever shows up and helps. i know this may be a shot in the wind asking for help since im new but i like having a helping hand thats done it before when doing something new to me. thanks in advance Carl
It is pretty much an all day event and a pain in the *** unless you have access to a shop with a lift, ratchet wrenches and air tools. The drivers side especially, you have to drop the steering rack to get the header thru... It will make your steering wheel off center when you connect it all back up unless you get lucky. I have done 4 of them and don't look forward to having to do any more. They do however make quite a difference in sound and performance. Good luck.

regardless if you have a lift or not its still a mother effer...i've put two sets on mine and i do look forward to doing it again...the funny thing is the first time they both went in from the top the second time the drivers side i couldnt even get to come out the top...you think that's bad...try stepped edlebrock on a 98 z now that's even worse.... 1 3/4 primaries stepped to 1 7/8s with 3.5 inch collectors...I think I used every cuss word in the book even with the lift it was a pain

It will be worth it once done. I ran 13.5 at 103 stock (car was capable of more, but it was my first time out). Now, I run 12.5 and that's spinning. This car now is capable of 12.1 IMO. This is an LS2, but the stuiff you had listed will really help. You should get an LS6 intake...maybe some 243 heads (LS2). Not sure if the ls6 intake will bolt to the LS2 heads, but if not, get a ported LS2 intake. You will have a strong LS1 then.
^An ls6 intake will bolt to ls2 heads, its just like any set of 243s. LS6 flows better too, only advantage of the ls2 intake is the 90mm opening. Difference is negligible after porting an ls2, but on an 04 its hard to beat the ls6 it comes with.

I say stock pipes, muffler swap, and x-pipe. Cat-backs can be expensive. You can get the same sound and power just with muffler's and x or h pipe. Its just not going to look as good.
