You do realize that a bone stock 04 GTO dyno's almost exactly those numbers right? A 6spd makes even a little more stock. I would bet that the OP's car is making anywhere from 325-335hp and similar torque.

I know how much 04 GTOs dyno. Mine dynoed 330/320 with a comp 222/222 cam and stock manifold and cats. The mustang does have a weight advantage. I will say from a dig, I think the mustang will edge it out unless they run a pretty long distance but from a roll, the GTO might take it.

Just curious how much of a weight advantage the mustang has over the GTO? I would assume they would race to at least 100 from any type of race which would be plenty of time for the GTO to real him in and pass him.

Weight difference is 240-250 LBS. Here is a motortrend test of both cars.
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...o/viewall.html
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t/viewall.html
In these test the GTO does reach 100 a few ticks faster but they are evenly matched in the 1/4. I know different drivers and different driving conditions but these cars are pretty evenly matched.

The stang trapped 99.9mph compared to the GTO's 104.78mph. So in theory for them both to have run 13.6s the stang would have to pull a pretty impressive 60ft time. I will stand by my 3-4 car length prediction. I have also never lost to an 05-10 GT with equal mods.

I think because of the solid rear axle, the Mustang is a bit easier to launch. Without proper suspension set-ups I imagine both cars would experience some degree of wheel hop but it would be more prevalent with the GTO. And the 99.7 or so trap for the mustang is actually one of the slowest I have seen. I have seen other test that had an 08 Buillitt mustang which is only 15 more hp than reg GT reach 100 in 12.7 seconds and trap at nearly 103 in the 1/4.
I myself wouldn't mind running a few 05-10 mustang gts to see how I would fair.

You're talking about a 375HP car vs a 325HP car...which do you think is going to win?

The only advantage the Mustang has is manual, and that's if he can drive, and then weight. But that's a 50HP difference.

Don't be fooled. A lot of cars feel fast when you're riding in the passenger seat, it's because you don't know what to expect and can't prepare yourself for what's about to happen.

My car actually feels like a beast when I ride in the passenger seat and someone else is driving. But when I drive it, it feels like a turd.

I'll be happy to see the stang in the rear view once you finally run him. So your car is untuned with the stock airbox?

Also, what headers are you running? and what type of exhaust?

You don't like the sound of the flows? I have flows on my car and I love the sound.

I put flows on mine to quiet it down. When I bought the car it had L/T, catted X and spintechs. It was way too loud.
