Default Key Fob Replacement

Hi, I have a broken key ring on my GTO key, the plastic ended up breaking off...how could I fix this? Or if not, are the internals from the key able to be transferred into a new casing?

you can try to glue it back. If not you will have to get brand new one and reprogram it. Used ones cant be reprogram to other car.

Just get a new fob, swap the key to it and reprogram. There are threads on ls1gto how to do it.

The buttons on mine are the same way...also I tried gluing it back on and it worked for like a day and it just broke again. There's just no way I'm going to be able to get it nearly as sturdy as when it was not broken, so I've decided to more than likely keep this as a spare and just order a new key.
I also have 2 questions for anyone who would be able to answer, and hopefully they haven't been asked on this forum before.
So first off, will the car allow 2 keys to be programmed at once so I am able to utilize a spare if needed? And if so how many keys can be programmed to one GTO?
And second, where would be a trusted source to be able to obtain a key that's not at dealer cost but still just as reliable? If someones bought a second key from somewhere besides the dealer and had good luck plz let me know...much appreciated!

I have no idea how many keys you can program to one car. And I did get mine from Ebay and it was brand new and it did work. There are right now on Ebay blanks with out any electronics inside so make sure you read the description all the way :-D

if you can afford it you can program any number of key fobs for your car. Once the key fob is programmed it can never be used on another car so purchasing used is a total waste of time and money.

You are going to have to do a internet search for on line dealers for the best price. It will be a dealer only part as I have not found an aftermarket supplier.

Key part numbers, need all 3 for one complete unit:

Blank Key: 92141426
Transmitter: 92123129
Pack of screws: 92138596

Guys I was browsing ebay the other day and ran across keys/cases all over the GTO parts section. Just saw this post and figured I'd chime in. My buttons got a cut and I just glued the hole shut, but anyway, heres a link you busted key case guys might like. Its just the key case if thats all that is wrong with you. Hope I can post ebay links without getting chewed out, and NO its not my auction. Just looking out>>> http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2005-PO...9339e6&vxp=mtr ....also other keys/parts for keys there if this link expires.
