New PB @ Royal Purple Raceway on 10.19.12
I've been working all summer tuning & trying to get more air to my (not so) new anymore motor. I went out a few weeks ago and wasn't able to hook up at all, but did trap ~130 at +2K' DA so I knew I was getting there.
Last night I made some changes in tire/air bag pressure, adjusted the shocks and was finally able to stick a launch.
New PBs at every increment. It's ~.13 seconds better than my previous PB but done at ~ 1200' higher DA. DA at the time of this run was +673'.
I think this is about all it has in it. I'm pretty sure I could drop a tenth with a taller tire or higher gear, maybe a different converter :dunno:
As it sits; I'm relatively certain if the opportunity came up to run at -1K' I could gut the interior, drop ~100#s and have a 9 second slip to post up on the internet. For now this will have to do
The car-
Naturally aspirated, HKE built 454 cu in, sleeved LS2, burning 93 octane pump gas. It has two OEM front seats, A/C, PS, PB etc... plus a five point CM roll bar & harness. It's somewhat NHRA legal to run down to 10.0. I've made some changes since I last accurately weighed, but I've tracked what I've added & taken out. The car weighs within ~5#s of 3666#s with driver.
Street Clothes -
After doing some controlled data logging I did end up swapping the aluminum OTRCAI for a Svede & picked up 1 - 2% airflow.
