2004 GTO came in. and there are lots of people on the net looking for solutions and there are no pictures anywhere until now.
This GTO actually needed a new ebrake handle. the plastic broke right behind the button. they are known for the little plastic circle pulling out of the metal C. and some have fixed this with a paper clip or stable to keep the two pieces together.
i unbolted the passenger seat and tilted it back it makes it much easier to access and adjust the hand brake cable. and remove the handle completely. the console does not need to be removed.
this car also would not hold it self on a hill. the cause of that was only one ebrake shoe was touching. i pulled the wheel and you can adjust it if its not rusted stuck through the rotor if not the caliper mount and rotor need to come off. with only one rotor holding the car would not roll if the nose was pointed down hill if it was pointed uphill it would roll backwards with the ebrake engaged.

here are some more pics i did disconnect the power seats but there was plenty of slack that you dont need to disconnect the connectors. just remove them from the seat bracket and covers. the hardest part about replacing the lever was getting the rubber boot off the old lever and on the new one.
