Default want easy rolling wheel hubs for the front

My wheel hubs are not what I will consider performance kind, just hard to turn, will be so much better to have the grease changed to 50 weight oil per say, does any one knows if the hubs can be opened and reseal with lighter lubricant in it, or any performance pieces available thanks in advance, David.

The worse that could happen is may hurt the wheel bearings but I don't think so, just think the rear wheels on a hard straight diff are lubricated only by gear lube in must cases, and chances are unless the bearings go dry you never have to bother with them. My knuckle head tells me there's a 10th or two to be scavenged there.

Yeah it would be worth a try the bearings would last longer in an oil bath setup. With them being sealed and pressed in it would be hard though. Maybe you could get someone to fab-up some spindles and bearings.

Not a chance. The lube used on axle bearings is thick for a reason and does little to impede the rotation of the bearing, especially once the grease warms up.

You are rite but in don't have lube thank you, what I have is paste and been high heat never liquefies so it does take extra effort to spin and beside it tends to dry up and deteriorate, those my advantage if can help it, win loose or draw I will try on all four wheels.

The wheel hubs on the 06 GTO I think only have one bearing, going back to spindle and dual bearings may be a step back wards IMO introducing even more thick grease induce resistance and weight mass.
I do welcome your input and ideas though, thank you.

Never heard of wheels being hard to turn short of calipers sticking.

Non other than unnecessary and undesirable resistance, say you spin the hob and it goes around a full turn and stop, now compare that to going around 5 times then stop, now multiply this times four and you get the idea, Lets say two cars otherwise exactly the same and one with the stock factory heavy grease as only difference factor, just with the same weight and power traveling the same distance only difference being the lower Resistance wheel hubs in the other car, you guess who gets there first.

I know I will be screwing around with this till I get my way, and I usually do.

Hubs are built with bearing preload in mind; They don't spin too easily.
