Default The GTO Cup Holders SUCK!!

I have spilled countless drinks in my goat, simply because the cup holders are awful! The only things that fit are cans, bottles, and small cups; Anything bigger does not fit correctly and tips over. It is ridiculous. I guess Australians don't drink large drinks or something?

Sorry about my rant..

I've been searching all over for people with similar complaints, and I found nothing? So am I just weird for being annoyed with this?

Anyways...... Is there a solution out there for this problem? Or am I just screwed?

I dont allow anyone to drink or eat in my car. So im there with you. I had friend of mine that dropped a 32oz cup of coke inside a mustang I had several years ago. That was the last time.

Drinking in cars is an american thing, I think Europeans and Australians don't do that as much as we do so it makes sense for them not to worry about those too much. Plus you can always get something like this:
Cup Holders For Cars-The KAZeKUP Ultimate Cup Holder Fits in your Car Cup Holders, Truck Cup Holders, RV Cup Holders, Tractor Cup Holders and more and improves their function in seconds. : Amazon.com : Automotive Cup Holders For Cars-The KAZeKUP Ultimate Cup Holder Fits in your Car Cup Holders, Truck Cup Holders, RV Cup Holders, Tractor Cup Holders and more and improves their function in seconds. : Amazon.com : Automotive

Me n Ethyl deliver a lot of custom Fuel Injector cleaning fluid to various frat and sorority parties. I had a tendency to drink and use the cup holders which would just about hold a pint mason jar. I figured I better stop that so I have been thinking of new ways to do the console. Eliminating the wasted space of the cup holder seemed obvious. I have a project going on to recover my entire console face. We replaced the T56 with a TH400 and B&M Quicksilver shifter. Using the leather boot looked okay but I really wanted something more functional and appealing. I've cut out the entire rear portion of the console and replaced it with an aluminum box that I have quick releases on. Trying to use other than OEM window switches is a little over my head so I will probably relocate them somewhere else. I added switches for the transbrake, two step, and lineloc before the car got so powerful it would blow through the lineloc. I am also going to put the LC1 calibration buttons on the plate and will eventually put the Boost Leash controller display on it.

Here is the original elimination of the cup holder for the fire pulls and other switches

This shows the replaced rear portion with the cupholders and windo switches gone

Not a very good picture with the AT shift plate in place, there will be a leather boot in the rectangular opening.

Yeah, those ill designed, inadequate cup holders completely ruined a 400 HP muscle car. Give me huge cup holders and a 150 HP V6 econo box any day.

My beer cans never fall out of the cup holder! Just use a smaller cup, or get a sippy cup with a lid!
