Did you look at the connection points? I'd be surprised if they were the same.

Well then shorten and go for it and report back. I don't think this has been done.

What is wrong with buying a DSS drive shaft instead of hacking-up the car?

You own the wrong car if you want to save money... Quit now, while you're ahead.

I own the right car because it's what I paid for.... You want to pay for the part you do so.... I'll do as I please in attempts to save a coin here or there......

How thick is the TBSS shaft?

The GTO exhaust runs right under the driveshaft, so things can get tight pretty quickly.

Never hurts to try and save... however, this is an expensive platform and so much information and mis-information floating around makes proper decisions a hard choice at times.

You're absolutely right... And I realized that which is why I'm trying to find an alternate solution....

I used to make carbon ds kits. I will tell you that it's extremely expensive to gather top shelf pieces and not cut corners. You can easily hit 2000 for a cf deal. Luckily, one company has decided to mass produce those for nearly half the cost. They aren't as strong or unique as what I used to make, but many have been very happy with them.

Your biggest issue is going to be the rear yoke. You may be able to source a direct-fit flange from the Driveshaft Shop to bolt the shaft to the rear, but I don't know what they would charge for that. Most of the money for the aftermarket shafts is tied up in the pinions.

I'm going to guess, it didn't work.
