Default 2005 GTO Radiator and fans question

Hello all,

I am swapping a 2005 GTO LS2 into another car. I am looking for a low price reliable cooling system. The LS1 Camaro radiator and fans are fine, but the outlet would make me run a hose across the top of the engine bay to the passenger side.

the LS2 GTO radiator exits lower and would therefore look better.

Does the GTO radiator mount at an angle (leaning towards or away from the engine)?

why does the hose exit the radiator in the middle? Is there something positive or negative I am missing about the set up?

Does the GTO radiator and fan set up seem to be reliable?

I appreciate any answers, suggestions, pictures or questions.

thank you,

Clint

The stock GTO radiator mounts straight up but you can lean it if you need to. The end tanks are plastic and they ALL break sooner than later. Fans are good. I don't know why the hose on the ds exits in the middle. Maybe that's where they had room. I went ahead and sprung for a DeWitt's after I tried one of those Chinese POS radiators. No overheating.

All i can say about GTO specific fans is that they are very expensive to replace. Back when I had my 2005 it was around $600 for parts.

They were replaced because they died, car had about 90K on it.
