Looking to break records
Anyone know what the fastest stock IRS/Stock rear end GTO E/T is. I am still on a 100% bone stock rear end making 1100whp (don’t ask how because even I don’t know) I am looking to break the stock IRS world record just need to know where to aim.

Well last year I definitely tried to break it I have a TH400 in the car with a trans brake and 2 step and I have launched it at 3500rpm and cut a 1.34 60’. It doesn’t make sense to me how this damn thing won’t break lol

@BCNUL8R can probably tell you.
PS....you won't break even a 10 bolt at high power if you either A) don't have traction, or B) launch it with a tire.

Well damn I definitely have my work cut out for me then. Last year only making 670 at the tire it went 10.59. This year I stripped out about 200lbs and added a wee bit more power lol 😂😂

Fastest NA GTO is: 9.95 at 134 1.39 60'
Fastest manual: 9.74 at 148
Fastest stock bottom end: 9.48 ETA: stock bottom end original motor. Some have gone faster with sbe 5.3's.
Fastest IRS: 8.10 at 179
Are a few that I'm aware of. Of course these don't count the tube chassis or back half big tire type cars. I do know the manuals tear up drivetrain parts pretty easily while the auto's actually do pretty well. The car that holds the manual record has the 9" IRS kit from G-force.

For what it's worth I went 10.2x at 133 mph back in 2007 with my first GTO only had 632 rwhp. I haven't had my current car to the 1/4 mile yet, but I have a spool and a bunch of other good parts in the drive train. I'm also not shooting for any records just a 9.5 goal. I'm only a 4l60e maybe you consider a th400 "cheating" also...LOL Maybe we can make records by color of car too...LOL.

Ya when you talk about records even in the slow GTO community it gets pretty difficult.

He is saying a stock rear, not an 8.8 or 9" swap from my understanding.
