I have a non ls equipped 2015 Taurus SHO with the 3.5 twin turbo v6 ecoboost, and I was considering an airaid intake system to make some more noise and was wondering if installing it without a tune would affect my car negatively

A tune always helps, but isn't necessary for a CAI. If you do want to get a tune, talk to Shawn Ellis at https://southernspeedinc.com/ They're also on Facebook as the group SSI Performance Group. Shawn does wonders with the ecoboosts. He does email tunes using the SCT 4 programmer.
