Default 2004 gto, what headers and shifter? park brake light stays on,glove box repair

I just bought a 2004 gto 127k miles. 6 speed manual.Should run full synthetic 7500 mile 5w30 oil or 10w30? What transmission fluid does it use? 98-02 fbodys had to have specific dexron III and had a sticker on side of the 6 speed trans. What diff fluid is needed and any additive?valvoline 75w90 full synthetic with posi additive added already?

The park brake light stays on even when the parking brake is down no resistance when driving and parking brake does work as its manual or will roll.

Ive seen two gto's this same way the glove box round or O breaks off and drops to the floor when opened how do you repair this?

Can anyone tell if this is a stock shifter or just a handle and ****. It has the 2 bolts 6-8" straight stick and how to fix this boot into place a metal retainer ring?

It has some type of plastic grill inserts but where do i get the stock black screen size grille inserts that sit flush and not recessed in the grill? They seem to be painted grill inserts? just without the screen can anyone identify?

I read about the gto wiring next to console passenger side would rub bare wire and short out where is this problem so i can put some electrical tape to prevent bare wire.

Some headers cam with the car i cant tell what brand and no markings or numbers? Are they pacesetters and are these correct extensions with flanges to fit to back half of exhaust?

Are these the specfic headers looks close but by o2 sensor is a bit different

Oil depends on how hot it gets. I’m in a hot state so in the summer I run Rotella 5/40 winter I run Mobile1 5/30 or 0/30 diff fluid is 85/140 with type F friction modifier 1 bottle.

I use synchromesh for my T56

I don’t have that problem maybe someone else can chime in.

That could be something along the lines like a Lous short stick, doesn’t mean you actually have a short throw shifter. You’d have to take the boot retainer bezel off to see if that’s an actual short shifter it’s attached to.

Headers could be pacesetters but…..

You use syncromesh in a 2004 gto 6 speed or in a 6 speed corvette or different t56? The fbody t56 i had a 98 has a big label that says DEXRON III on it.
Fixed the brake light issue.

I have a stikky shifter that came with the car i seen they have better designs these days like the comp plus, mgw, and tick performance shifters.

The gto rear ends use these not 75w-90 2004-2006? 85/140 with type F friction modifier 1 bottle?

04 GTO M6
So does the GTO but Synchromesh is a much better lubricant for the early T56.
I have a Sikky also but a newer model.

On the diff yes 85/140 and regular oil is recommended over synthetic. Another reason to use that is to fine-tune the modifier over an all-in-one. The friction modifier makes the oil slip more. Our posi uses cones that act as clutches. The modifier lets them slip smoothly when needed. Too little and they will grab and let go making a chattering or popping noise. Too much and the cones slip when they shouldn't.

Now on the F friction modifier. Most folks put in a bottle (4oz) and forget about it. Now it's a bit more trouble but the best way is to add about an ounce and a half (2 ounces is "normal") and drive it a bit to mix and then do slow hard turns in both directions. If it's fine you're done. If it pops add a little more and repeat.

The smallest amount that doesn't pop is the best.
