The Mitsu Lancer Evolution VIII (most common model) weighs 3263 lbs. according to the Mitsubishi website. All wheel drive with sticky tires on the EVO makes a difference, also. GTO has all season tires (read: not very grippy) and that makes a difference.

alrighty well here it is...i raced him...was a short race, but a race none the less
ok we were in a 55 mph zone but he wanted to start from 25.....so we slow to 25 and decide to go after a 1...2....3....go, so we both hit it at the same time, and he inches ahead, i was not looking at the speedo, b/c i was too busy watching him pull on me....until we hit about 65-70 and he kills it, there was about a 1-2 foot gap inbetween our cars, and i would definently say at about80 mph i would walked him the rest of the way, what can i say it was his race but....

yea i think it would be closer, he might get a little more room off the line but from 80 mph and on i would be reelin him, but if i do i will post so everyone will be enlightened, but once i get i/h, and nitrous.....game over
The only problem I see if that if he can drive that EVO even a little, he's gonna pull a helluva lot more than 1-2 feet on you from a dig. More like 1-2 car lengths unless you're really good at launching also. That's pretty tough to make up in a 1/4 mile. Good luck though and let us know how you fare from a dead stop.

what a coincidence, i raced an evo tonight and from a roll i killed him, but from a stop i got wasted pretty bad. I started to catch up and he hit the brakes so i think 1/4 gto would win. The ******* had the nerve to roll his window down and tell me to "take my car back to mommy" and "that thing has 350 horses and you barely pulled me, what a piece of american ****". I was pretty hot. Stupid ******* ricers.

each car has its race obviously a gto has much more top end, race an evo from like 60 -130 and they would get raped....yet u could put almost any single mod on either car and they would prob win whatever race it is

i raced a wrx with no cats and boost controller (not sure how many ps1 he was launching) but he whooped me off the line and all along but from rolling i was ahead by 1/4 of the car
be carefull evo's are alot faster than wrx's
