Yeah, the 96to98 Cobra's would usually dyno around 260rwhp. However, the last curb weight I saw on them was 3446. Thats about +/- 300lbs. heavier than a goat. So the goat needs them extra oats. Stock for stock I would still give an edge to the goat in a race, all other things being equal. But what the Cobra CANT do is bolt on a whole lot more power N/A. They can be supercharged but so can a goat But I have to say, I really did like my 97 Cobra. The whole OHC thing is really cool and is a blast to rev to 6800. Instead of sounding like its coming apart, it just begs for more. Just a shame that Ford in there typical way of doing things, couldn't have put more cubes behind an otherwise excellent top end .

I definitely agree from what I have read teh Goat can go about 1 to 2 tenths quicker bone stock than a 96-98 Cobra, but I think someone earlier had said that they weren't quick at all without forced induction, which definitely isn't the case. I know a few people that have gone low 12's with nothing but suspension, tires, very steep gears and bolt ons. But then again there's nothing wrong with throwing a lil power adder on there.

Yeah, your right, theres nothing wrong with throwing a little life support on a car. I'm just a little atmosphericly challenged, so I prefer making power on motor. I really wish I could get over this though, cause its just going to get my butt beat. Saying that a 96-98 Cobra wasn't quick at all, is just an uninformed opinion. I dont think it is as fast as the lsx cars, but they are still fast cars.

I raced a 2003 mustang gt manual 5spd w/ boltons and drag radials against a bone stock M6 2001 Camaro.. The camaro was ahead 2 cars length..

I dont think it will be a problem for an A4 GTO even with a stock 2003 mustang gt unless he has shorter gears and sticky tires. 96-98 gt's are no comparison to any LS1.
