And I am not throwing a shot at you either...REALLY....but while I agree with your statement from a performance standpoint, the Z06 is about the plainest looking sports car / super car that has ever been built. I mean talk about being a sleeper. Smooth lines, no hood scoop, no outrageous ground effects, nothing but that little badge on the fender to tell you that you're messing with death.

That said, I didn't buy a GTO until the 04s went on sale & they'd give me the 05 hood for free. Because it's TOO PLAIN for me! When I think of sports cars I think of Vipers or my ram air TA or a 69 Z28. Something flashy, with style. Thankfully GM is moving in that direction with the 05 GTO & 06 Z06.

Since the '05's just came out, there aren't any incentives, rebates, or special discounts applied to them to move inventory like the '04's. Come this time next year, maybe, but right now there are none. You start at $33,190 (M6), and $32,495 (A4) and about the only deductions you can take are GM card earnings and MAYBE GMS supplier.

I have gotten two quotes at $31.2K for the M6. The deciding factor was how much each dealer would give me for my trade. I pick it up next weekend.

U are NOT going to see discounts on the 05 GTO like u did on the 04.It wont happen,2500 off and some financing options for sure, but GM card points and 5500 off incentives will never happen on the 05.They only built 12K units and there selling fairly well now,by the spring/summer they'll be flying off of dealers lots quickly.

The Z car is a different car so trying to compare the 2 is a mute point.
One is a supercar, the other is a muscle car.

Sean I was curious,I've never seen a ET from your Z06?Have u ever run it,I know its pretty new so I wasnt sure if u had it to the track yet?Oh,and its beautiful too...

I do like the 05 GTO,its a nice car but it sure isnt a Z06....

Which is even more surprising because price gouging by profit hungry delaers is what caused GM to offer all the incentives they did on the '04's to move them.

Dealers thought they had gold in their hands, charged MSRP PLUS what they considered "Fair Market Value Adjustment" of roughly $5k to because this was a "rare" and "unique" car. Needless to say, I ended up going some 200 miles away to a dealer in St. Louis to get the deal I did which in January of 2004 was a steal for this car.

I could have picked up a new 2005 M6 for $31,098 a little while ago, but that was when the $1,500 loyalty rebate was available.

Don't get me wrong JS I miss the SS but the only way I would do another track/race car would be if I could have both. The Zo6 and a Race car...
I really would like to buy a Z and strip it and go after cam only record but aint goin to happen...Not enough tracks close by to keep the travel costs down...If I had a track within an Hour of the shop I would still have a car...
