Default Problem with K&N CAI install....

Im not sure whats going on but a few months ago My car was bone stock and one day my check engine light came on and stayed on for about 15-20min. I had about 5k miles at the time I now have 9,200 and yesterday I installed my first mod the K&N CAI. Let me just say I love the sound and the performance it enhanced for my goat. And I want to thank New Era Perfomance parts for fast delevery. Ok now When I installed it perfect yesterday no problems then last night i got home and the engine light came on again didn't think much of it...this morn still on drove for 10 min it went off this afternoon it came on again drove for 10min again and it went off tonight came on for a 3rd time and stayed on for 40min till it finally shut off...so im thinking its the intake. Is there something wrong here I checked everything 40 times and nothing car drive good also. Could my sensor be damaged or should i go to the dealership and have them do a diagnostic to find out if there is something seriously wrong.

dont go to the dealer with the K&N...there is a TSB that says if an aftermarket filter is installed (oiled type like K&N) they can void tranny issues due to oil on MAF (which for some damn reason helps control shift firmness on auto cars)....so I would take it back off and reinstall the stock one, disconnect the battery, reconect and drive. You hav have damaged the IAT sensor or something minor like that, OR the MAF is not seated in the new intake kit properly...if this occurs, some air can seep past and screw things up and set codes. I would go to Advanced Auto or Autozone and have them scan it WITH the K&N intake on it.

Did you ever get this resolved? This has happened to me a few times (light coming on)...and each time I check and my gas cap is a little loose. I'm not sure if pressurization in the tank can affect it, but mine always resets. (Not that it happens all the time though.)

Anywho...just wondering if you got it figured out?
