L.p.e. C.a.i ?
I was wondering if anyone has tried one of these for the 05 GTO. I was thinking of ordering one and was wondering about fit and finish and if it actually worked. They claim 14 rear wheel H.P. It did look nice and had a heat shield. Well I will what and see what the opinion is on these. Or maybe see what other products come out later.

well i removed my stock box and added a k&n cone filter and i can hear and feel a difference, so a whole system should work fine. i'm going to put a system on mine as soon as i get some extra $$$$$'s

If it works as well for the 05 as theirs does for the 04 (which I have) I would buy it. LPE does good work and their partition with seals actually does seem to work well in isolating the intake from the engine heat. LPE themselves are a great group to work with, especially Jeff.

Compared to the CAI that has the air filter expose to the engine bay is a waste of money. Sure it may be slightly better than stock but for the 05's heatsoak has been an issue with the filters without a heat shield.
LPE has done it right by having a heatshield. Very noticable gains in the mid to upper rpms. I'd say it's the best one for the price for the 05 GTO's.

my friend just got K&N's intake. it also has a heat shield which is quite effective. My gto is stock and she consistently takes me by a car length from a dig through 2nd. It costs 250 not 400. Do not pay for the LPE name tag. Seriously people, it's intake.
