Stupid Tire And Tm Questions?
I have an 05 GTO Auto with LPE CAI and the straight pipe mod.(mufflers cut off rest is stock) This car is running great as I have run a 4.88 0-60(Gtech) before the CAI mod. When I launch the car with t/c off I will get a fair amount of tire spin and also a great bark on the 1-2 shift everytime. This is in 90+ degree heat. My question is can I go to wider rear tires on my stock chromed rims(look great and don't want to change) something like 275/45/zr17 or is this even possible? I know I could probably get better 0-60 times with more meat on the rear of the car. Also I have heard all of the talk about torque management in these cars and have no idea what this is and have not experienced this in my car. Everytime I step on the gas this car will spin tires at will and with t/c off light them up and bark the 1-2 shift with even 3/4 throttle pressure. Maybe my car doesn't have it programed in who knows. Just had a few questions for you experts in those departments. Thanks and comments are appreciated.

any tires will be better than the ones they put on when you first get the car. The ones they provide are shitty, you can go up a little bit wider but i wouldnt go much, i would just get some nice good tires, some F1s or something decent. And you will see improvement.

The stock tires aren't all that bad if you learn how to launch (how else would some of the M6 guys get their 60' times into the 1.8's on stock tires ).
To answer your questions, i believe a 275 nito drag radial will fit on the stock rim, and it will help a lot with traction. TM is most noticeable on the shifts, that's where the PCM pulls timing.
