Default 04 Gto "Short" Block

I have access to one of these from a totaled 04 gto with low miles. And a good hook up to get this installed, I have a 98 t/a with 125000 miles should I go for it and what benefits would I get from this? Thanks for any input.

The '04 short is essentially the same as your '98. The only major differences are the LS6 block and slightly better rod bolts on the '04 short block. Whether or not you should go for this depends on your future goals, what condition your current engine is in, and how good of a price you can get.

I'd swap it in if you could get it cheap enough. I'd then take your old block and rebuild it with some nasty heads and a cam

Yeah it's about the same...but a lower mileage engine never hurt anyone. If you're getting a good deal for it then do it.
