Default 10 Sec GTO

Ok guys..here is the question..is it possible to get a GTO into the 10's and still be streetable without any FI.. so is a 10sec NA GTO possible ??

and if so, what would you need to do it... I just came into some money and I would like to make this my winter project..

I'm in NJ , so I'm thinking of stopping by CARTEK and hearing what they have to say..

Cartek has built lots or fast 10sec streetcars, for a GTO to go 10s NA it would have to be pretty radical. At such a heavy raceweight you`d need a built bottom end, huge cam, very expersive stage3 heads,a very loose converter, and every susp part BMR makes.

A 408 and some good driveline parts should get you there.

You could do it with a decent engine and a bottle. Who said N/A streetable couldnt use a little help at the track from good ol juice?

On that note, a mostly stock 04 is running 11.70's localy on DR's and a little help.

Why not just put a turbo system. i think it wuld be the easyest and cheapest way to get there and still retain good drivability

If your willing to lighten the car it could be easy. But you'll probably snap the IRS so while your at it you should put a Moser back there.

408, stage 3 LS6 heads, manifold and a big TB, big injectors, decent sized cam, well tuned (call it about 12k so far). Then clutch, driveshaft, half shafts, axel stubs, spirings, shocks, something sticky on the ground (call it another 6k at this point).
Give or take 20k and considering you could do all the work yourself...that should put you in the 10's in a goat. I actually sat down and figured it out one day trying to get fast enough to run against my dad's turbo myers manx. (340hp in a 1200 car). I might be able to catch him, I would end up divorced and sleeping in the car...but the look on his face would be priceless. I am still trying to figure out if I should risk it
