Default Cluster question

The center LCD stopped working on my GTO. If I take it in, will they keep the car until they get a new one for it? When they get it, do you think they will have the know how to transfer all the info from my old cluster to the new one? Isn't the VIN and mileage in the cluster?

as long as your car is still safe to drive i.e. your analog speedo still works, then they wount keep it. 99.999999% sure they will just replace the entire cluster and yes, they will transfer everything over to it except for any aftermarket stuff you have done like shift light activations and stuff like that.

Why not take this opportunity to get a new cluster and reprogram it?

your VIN and mileage is stored in 2 locations. the cluster is one place and there's another secret location chris (www.gtoshiftlight.com) knows about. so you can put in a new cluster and your mileage and VIN should show up.
