I've only had my car about a week and i'm looking through the owners manual and see this section about a security card, how every GTO is issued one, about how i should store it in a safe place. it also said it had some kind of code on it for the radio, vin# etc...what security card!! never got one, never even heard of one until today. i called the dealership and they said i did'nt really need it for anything. (i don't think they have it) but it also says in the manual that if it's lost the owner may have to pay for a new one if the radio needs to be reset. does anybody know anything about this??

well, it's good no know no one else knows what this security card is, i guess i don't need it then

It is what the manual says it is. I haven't had to use mine, but I hear that if you remove the radio and then disconnect the battery, you will need the code to get the radio to work again. I've had my radio in and out a few times, but never lost power, so it plugged back in and still worked.

I think the code is needed to replace your key if you lose one. That way no one can take your VIN # and have keys made for your car. I think.

It's a little card about the size of a credit card. It should have been given to you at the time of purchase. Mine was in a little slot on the cover of my owner's manual. You should bug the dealer until he finds it or gets you a new one.

that's what i did, i bugged them again today and they were able to locate it all of a sudden. they're mailing it to me
