I have had my 04 GTO for a while now and I am getting ready to start modding it. I am either going with heads and cam or a Maggie. My question is what is the weakest link in the drive train. I know the 4l60e is junk but how are the half shafts and D.S. in these cars? I don't get much of a chance to check stuff out for this car so all the help I can get would be appreciated. Links of what to get and so forth would be great.

There are many folks running H/C or super chargers with stock driveline. Once you get to 475+ RWHP then you may have some concerns. I'm willing to bet in this order, half-shafts, driveshaft, rear diff.

Yep in that order half shafts, driveshaft and diff are a toss up. Transmission will go first if you add a stall oddly enough, but with making around 400-425hp and tq driveline will be fine.

Well good than I will probably just stick with heads and cam and get the tranny built to hold the power a little better. THis car wil probably never see the track I got the TA for that. Thanks for all of your help.
