Default Sewer Smell from Converter

My 2004 GTO emits a raunchy smell occasionally that smells like garbage or maybe ammonia, which I assume comes from the catalytic converter. It only does so in town at slower speeds, after it's warmed up. (It is not a sulfur or rotten egg smell, but actually smells more like ammonia.) Anybody else noticed this or have any suggestions? Running too rich, maybe? Thanks.

Did you run over something like a plastic bag or road kill that may be burning on the underside of the exhaust when it warms up?

yeah, check your exhaust for something that might have gotten stuck and is burning, i got plastic, like the one they use in the fields to wrap vegetables, that heavy duty plastic, stuck on drivers side cat (bottom cat) and it stunk, i cleaned it off
