My neighbor has a 2005 GTO that is about 8 months old that was rear-ended today with a hit more directed to the right rear. From the looks of it the passenger quarter panel has damage at the rear and is creased in 2 spots up over the wheel and closer to the door, the rear deck lid is trashed, the bumper cover is trashed, the exhaust is tweaked, and who knows what else is screwed.
The question is has anyone had one of these things totaled? I know it is hard to tell without pictures, but I'm wondering what the insurance company will do. He wants a new car or it fixed, but in the event they total it I want him to buy it back in hopes I can get my hands on it. I'll try to get some pictures in the morning. Thanks.

Any car that has been in a rollover will be totaled by the insurance company. As far as his damage. I doubt they will total it. I think the damage has to exceede 80% of the cars value to be considered a total loss.
