Ok, test fitted late saturday night at my friend's shop. Didn't have enough time before the going to the bar to remove coil spring and sway bar to see how this really fits with camber and sitting at ride height. As is in pictures wheel is 4.5" from edge of wheel to edge of wheel well. Actually sitting on the ground is like 2.25" or something. Was only at 1.5* of camber, I ran as much as 3* on my last 240sx, as long as I can get toe dialed in I'm not opposed to 3* of camber on this car. Will still need to put a small (255/35-28) tire on the rear and cut/roll quarter wheel well lips and maybe a reall small pull on the fender lips.

My last 240sx before I had this car had stretched tires and pulled fenders, I know not many people on this site will appreciate that style but whatever, I'm not building my car for them.

Wheel specs if anyone is interested, f:18x8.5 +44 R:10x10 +25, I believe I'll have the lowest offset wheels on a GTO stateside. Not going to be the best for traction but these are just street wheels, I'll toss something better on there and some 295's or something when I go to the track.

Enough rambling, here's the links to large pics. Sorry for camera phone pics.

Another degree and a half of camber, stretched tires and pulled fenders, did you read that post at all? Camber alone should net me 1/2" of clearance.

Sweet, sweet wheels! But, all that work? I don't get it?

I read it, I just think you are crazy. A 255 on a 10" wheel...come on. I have 9.5" wheels with a 45 offset and I still had to roll my fenders tight as hell to keep them from rubbing. Good Luck.

Yeah, I'm real crazy. I just think taking this extra step to have something stand out from the crowd is worth it to me. Since these are just street wheels I'm just going to have to live with the fact that it's not going to hook up well. I guess some of the import drift style stuck with me when I left the rest of it behind. I will post more pictures of it next weekend when I can actually get the wheel to ride height and have more camber, should be much closer to fitting then.

Looks like it will be interesting. So what if it sticks out a bit. Just get sum drag bags to keep them off the fender lips. Your rear quarter panel is going to get dirty quick and will probably get a few paint chips from rocks being kicked up. As a former 240sx owner myself, you got any pics of that older set-up?

Does not seem worth the effort. Why not just buy some wheels that look like that with the right width and offset?

Why not just blend in with the crowd and never do anything original? Progress can't be made without someone trying something new.
