dude I haven't been to the track yet. but if your goat has a cat back, Lt's and mid size cam, heads and tune... you should def. be in the 11's and you should take out a z06 depending on year. check vids. on youtube. seen a h/c 04 gto eat a z06 alive.

The reason I ask is I am looking at a 04 GTO with the red int. (which I love) this weekend. And I had a camaro that ran a 12.0 at 117 with a shitty 60 ft. Do you think I will be disappointed with a GTO? I am looking for something that is more "comfy" than a camaro.

check this vid. not sure but he said 450 to the wheels. which is probably a h/c gto. notice how that z06 got spanked.

i bet that zo6 was stock except for the wheels and maybe an exhaust. An 06 zo6 would have left that gto...and yea you can put a 4.11 gear in it just to get it to move out but just remember top end speed. I just think itd be hard to get an 11 second daily driver for cheap. Id hope no one drives around the streets on drag radials...

Junk the LS1 , everyone knows they are junk and the LS2 is the only way to go. Hell I would take an LS4 over the shitty *** LS1.

probably was stock. but it still got whooped. especially by a car that weighs 500 pounds more and is about 20 grand cheaper. but what's it matter? there's always going to be something faster.

I ran 12.5 with a GT2-3(207/220 .571/.578 118), Dynatech headers/cats, stock cat back, Speed Inc CAI, SLP pulley, 160 t-stat, and tune.

I ran 12.3 when I put the GMPP LS6 heads on that combo above. With heads, even easier to get into the 11's with a decent sized cam.

My 04 ran 12.2 @ 111 with a 1.62 60.

bone stock ls1 with a 9" edge verter and 275 dr's

and a 150 shot. stock exh

had to roll the inner fenders to fit the 275's with the eibachs but still not bad for a stock ls1

the 04 has a ls6 block and a ls6 intake. I have my engine out right now and have verified the part #'s

My new mod list is a mile long but i am looking for low 11's for sure this year.

afr205's 59cc,lt's,k&n cai,dyno tune,xer lobe'd 232/234,3500 edge,nos plate kit,eibach pro,bfg 275/35/17 dr's,slp pump,.040 cometic's,comp 1.75 pro mags,comp .080 wall 7.400 push rod's,arp rod bolt's,arp head studs,3" mid's no cats,slp underdrive pulley,kenne bell b.a.p,lpe pump

I would not trade my goat for anything.

basically what would it take to get into the 11's..alot of green. Yumm burn nice hole in dat wallet. And once again in the vid you cant tell that the z06 got whooped i know the goat pulls away but I'm pretty sure the vette let off probably traffic ahead. The vette didnt just get blown away or anything either.

If your an A4 your first mod should be a stall and tune. Then gets some LT's,cat-back,Intake and cam and heads. In that order.

yeah a lot of green, but what doesn't with cars. the gto still was pulling hard regardless of whether or not their was traffic. and plus that guys kept going for a little ways after so traffic wasn't to close. also yeah the vette let off i'm guessing probably after that guy pulled on him. he still won.. and if you say the vette might of got him high up... what are we supposed to race a 2 mile strip. a win is a win. but whatever the z06 is still a badass car. the point is the GTO has a lot of potential. even though she's a heavy girl. and in all reality it wouldn't take that much to get into the 11's. I mean put a 150 shot on ur car with a cam and exhaust and I'm sure you would hit it for about 2 grand.

? why would he want to get a tune before he has a Lt's, cat back, intake, cam and heads?

Obviously he would need to have it retuned after each step. its a good idea to find someone who will do life time tuning for one price. My good pal Carl charged 300 bones for a lifetime of tuning.

Yeah, but you're also forgetting the massive torque advantage LS2's have too.

Considering I have what, 11 less rwhp and 16 more lbs/ft with a stock cam/heads?

Either engine's great though.

k well in that case that's fine. but if you can't find someone that will retune ur car whenever then no. I don't know anyone that does that so I had to pay 400 for a single dyno tune.

Yeah, I have no clue as it hasn't hit over 40 degrees here in months, so I can't even hook to tell. It sounds like it would be mean though.
