Default Thinking about headers!!!

What is the cheapest kit that is still and good quality kit?
They're for and 06 gto and I need cats, O2 fittings and the O2 extensions! Pretty much everythin I need to have emission's legal long tubes that'll bolt up to a factory style exhaust!

I thought all long tubes are a no-no in California, but you can't assume that's where he's talking about. Lots of states have emissions, and some include visual inspecions IIRC. Personally, I'd save up longer for Kooks, and have no comment about any other brand.

Pacesetters FTW! Either way don't think you're gonna get away w/out dropping the steering rack and disconnecting the PS lines. They're not that bad to install, just time consuming. First time doing them is a bitch though....

Kooks are the best IMHO. But some of us cannot justify spending that much when the Pacesetters are right there. I will race a full bolt on GTO with Kooks at the track any day vs my Pacesetters.... bet I can win

I'm in MO too. I haven't gone through the new inspection yet, but I think all they do is plug into the ODBII port and scan for codes and that all your sensors are active. I've posted a couple times on ls2gto.com in the midwest section about the new emissions testing, but haven't gotten much feedback. I'm going to be crossing my fingers...headers & cam...but at least I have Kook's high-flow cats.

I agree with the both of you:

I had a problem with my left bank that I even admitted was a problem with my car, not the headers themselves. Without a hesitation, Kooks sent me a new left bank, paid to have them installed, and emailed me a label to print out so I didn't have to pay to ship them back.

THAT's why I said I'd have a hard time recommending another company...and won't say anthing bad about any others because I've never ran them. Don't know why you guys are so sensitive. Kooks envy?

They aren't even that much more than the Pacesetters, only what 300 more. its not envy, its just funny how people are. Thier stuff is always the best... this was a huge pissing contest on LS1GTO.. and still is. In the end we all get gains.. its just what your personal goals are, and your budget. Will pacesetters rot off my car.. most likely no. Gains are gains, take them as they are. that is how I roll.

I didn't **** on anybody. I recommend Kooks because I like mine and had good service.

Didn't say **** about Pacesetters...that's how I roll.

thatboyvic said: yeah, they're the best and I'll still whip your *** at the track
you said: I agree 100%

You then said this is always a big pissing match implying that I've gotten into one. I don't think I've misunderstood anything here, but either way it's all good. I like my Kooks and never, ever bash products I've never touched or used. I also can't launch my car for **** at the strip, so there's no doubt thatboyvic would whip my *** with stock manifolds

lol this is funny...

i am a budget guy. just the way i am. my friend has to get all the new expensive **** and brag about it.... i still kick his ***... its not that we cant afford it some people just really budget and get the most reasonable gains for the cheapest price. that way we get more parts in the end

hey but its all in fun... spice up the gto section on here....lol

$290.00 shipped is ebay prices. I got mine in 3 days. I have the best coating you can get (Polydyne) and they coat them for $275.00 So $565.00 for everything.

Main reason I bought them was because I held off on my turbo setup. So this will get me by till I spend a few weekends building a kit. Build kit on weekend and install headers on sunday and drive to work on monday works good with me
