Our SCCA events usually run ~$35 for 6 runs if I remember correctly and you work the other 6 runs. But when the Joplin tornado hit, FEMA decided to use our location to set up trailers and equipment (even though its an hour away) so they lost the large lot.

Now they run on a much smaller lot and it's half as fun and no longer worth the cost to me, especially since I cannot afford a SCCA membership for the full year since I no longer qualify for their "young person/student discount". It's also an hour and half drive to the site so gas adds into that.

A local Corvette club runs an event once a month only 20 minutes from me. It $10 to run a 3 run set and $20 to run in the morning and afternoon set for a total of 6 runs. I do that on occasion.

Chicago Region is $38 a day. You get six runs total split into a morning and afternoon session and have to work for one of your off sessions. You can relax and spectate the other one. We have a good size lot at route 66 raceway. I just wish they would let us out on thse nice stretch with a turn around so I can use my POWAH!!!

You wont find a better run autocross than the nnjr scca, def worth checking out
do you usually run the morning session or afternoon? I've only ever done afternoon and it seems like hours upon hours out in the lot

Although I've done Auto-X for 10 years in my TA, I've never taken it too seriously and continue to have great fun. Compared to drag racing or road racing, there really isn't much extra wear on the car - aside from the tires. Because F-bodies are big, heavy, and not ideally balanced, prepare to get smoked by a Miatas and Minis....but F-bodies are just so "entertaining" to keep under control. Smooth controlled driving = fast times

Yeah, the anouncers always comment either before my run or after how entertaining it is to watch me run! Can I say a lot of Slideways? but still fast! I usually provide a lot of entertainment either from a fishtail or a tire spinning or just the growl of the LS1 from the exhaust! I'd prefer not to do it that way, but there's a lot of throwing the big girl around to make her fast. Hoosier Smoke is very expensive!

Is having an auto a big disadvantage?

I ran autox in my a4 trans am and all I did was put her in first and let her eat. I didn't have to shift on that course. But yeah there was a lot a sliding going on but everyone that watched me said how much they love the f body and how it slid so much. I know it's not the fastest way around but it sure is fun.

I bought my B4C from a mod off frrax.com. It has a list of suspension mods a mile long and is on RAILS compared to any f-body Ive ever driven.

So far Ive had it to the drag strip but never auto-x

ESP car with a cage in it? Nice! We used to have the best concrete surface on the East Coast down here in Norfolk, but the Navy made us leave the base when the command changed, would be nice to have that much room again! With the site we have now, it's always a Miata course no matter how they try to even the field.

I don't own a F-body but I did have to borrow a 2002 TA to salvage some points while I finished up putting a LS1 in my Daytona Coupe. The TA was alot of fun on the course and easy to control. I wish my Daytona was that easy to drive, but it tends to be a real handful. I guess 350 RWHP in a 2200 lb car will tend to be that way.

TA run:

My car finally done:

Watching your speed maintained through the slalom I figured you were on R35's. As much as I want to do heads and cam this winter, I need a set of real rims and some R35's.
