Default '13 Nitto NT05 295/35ZR18 vs '11 Hankook RS3 285/35ZR18?

Use will be DD duty in Charlottesville, VA with occasional HPDE/track days at VIRginia International Raceway and Summit Point Raceway. Not interested in R comps at this time as I am a beginner and need a dual purpose tire whose use will be 90+% street and spirited Virginia country/back road driving. Right now Tire Rack has the 285/35/ZR18 Hankook RS3 at closeout for $220 plus shipping but I called and they are early 2011 stock. Discount Tire Direct has the 295/35ZR18 for $220 free shipping and they are 2013 stock. I know Sam Strano is a big fan of the RS3 though in this case for me they would be 1) 2 years older 2) a touch narrower but maybe not as Nitto seems to run small 3) a touch more expensive than the NT05 and 4) MAYBE not as good in the cold/rain as the NT05 (I know these are both max summer tires so this is probably splitting hairs). If anyone has personal experience with either of these I would love to hear it. You are all a huge help hopefully more and more guys start building F bodies that turn!
