Reviving this thread rather than starting a new one...

I have been running FS in my local groups for the past two-ish years and i figured i'd try to push the limits of the stock class before going all in with the modifications for next season. (blah blah i know its not the most competitive car to be running in that class)

My question: does anyone know if the WS6/SS 17x9 wheel option is considered to be a SCCA legal stock option to equip on cars that came with 16x8 standard size wheels from the factory? If this holds true, would that mean that the factory WS6/SS "upgraded' suspension bits such as springs and bars would also be "legal" to add to a base model Trans am?

I'm probably overthinking some of this but i'd rather do it somewhat right in the situation that I want to attempt events with a more strict tech inspection.

You would have to do a 100% complete package conversion to a WS6/SS car. Every single part that is different needs to be swapped.

Doesn't really matter though since the 4th gen is a complete turd in FS anyway.

Gotcha, I kinda figured.

Yeah Its not super competitive, but I'm just there for fun. I can only ask so much of the auto trans and quite tired suspension.

You can run CAM if you want with way looser rules. Get the car down to minimum weight, add some power and more importantly add some huge wheels and tires. Not sure what you could fit under it with FS legal wheels. 5th gen 1LE's are FS legal with 20x10 and 20x11 wheels.
