My son wants either the BFG Comp 2 or Comp 2 A/S.

I know tire rack is a major sponsor of the SCCA, but I've been shopping more on Discount Tire direct. Better prices w/ free shipping. Also, the reviews for this tire size is almost all F-bodies or mustangs. So, it puts into perspective our weight and dynamics.

BFG R1's come in 275/40/17, but those are a little more spendy than you're after at around $1400 a set. Great track tires, last a long time. For the choices you're looking at, I'd say NT01.

I wouldn't recommend that if you're interested in taking turns at speed (road course or auto-x).

yea but a 275 R1 is actually wider than a "normal" 275...I'm not sure what they are using to measure their tread width but it appears to be different from everyone else.
