Shopping for a new helmet. Anyone use forced air?
Hey guys. I'm used to using cheap full faced Simpson helmets with no visor and sun glasses. When I started riding motorcycles I got a really nice Arai with an awesome visor system. The helmet is so comfortable and has vents everywhere. It's now my karting helmet.
So now I need a helmet for the car. I want to use a visor for safety reasons but I know it would be so hot. That's why I'm thinking of forced air. The problem is I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money. Simpson will add forced air to any helmet for $150. Since they are local to me, I'm thinking of them because trying on helmets is important.
So my 4th gen has T-tops but for track days/time trials I'll be using a screw on hard top. I'm thinking of building a scoop in the roof for the air intake for the helmet.
Anyway, any opinions will be appreciated.
Thanks guys.
